There is NOTHING that is 100% safe. Nothing. Millions upon millions of people get vaccinated every year. Some have reactions, some of those are fatal. Sad, but to focus on those few out of the many millions who have no reactions at all, as an excuse to declare them "bad", is illogical to say the least.

You guys can debate "flu shots" all you want, yet the facts are such:

After all that has been said, flu vaccinations are 60% to 62% effective in healthy adults aged 50 to 62 years of age. Of unhealthy adults with chronic conditions, flu shot effectiveness is 48%. IMHO, these levels of flu shot effectiveness are dismal for adults, and represent a crap shoot.

Now for children... the efficacy of flu shots amongst healthy children is much higher, on the order of 77% to 91%, and worth their minor pain inconvenience.

If 1 million adults in the age range of 50-62 get the flu shot, and the effectiveness is only 48%, that is 480,000 adults who won't get the flu who might have, possibly with dire consequences.

That's dismal in your eyes? A crap shoot? I'd take those odds any day given the possible reward!

The good for humanity of vaccinations has already been proven, you just refuse to accept it for whatever reason. Heard about any cases of smallpox recently?

So you put nothing in your body that you did not make yourself? Really? Ever take an aspirin? Eat a meal in a restaurant? Purchase food from a supermarket? Eat a meal at someone else's home? Take a drug prescribed for you by a doctor? Made all of that stuff yourself, or watched it be prepared/manufactured, did you?

I don't take it for granted that they're safe, but accept the scientific data that says they're safe and effective.

Lady who works at Wal-Mart, was getting here Tamiflu filled at the store pharmacy and said she was going to work while she had the flu.

WM doesn't offer sick days to their employees. If one misses work for the flu one does not get paid.
