There was also a small transistor controlling the first receiver RF Preamp that blew out when I had a nearby lightning strike. They also wanted to replace the crystal oscillator, but it required a completely new board as the new crystal would not fit the old board. That fix alone was more than what was broken, so I politely declined.

Maybe if I'm lucky I'll have it by the New Years Day net!!

I hope so, I would love to hear you loud and clear as we all are use to.
I should be bearable this year as I have finally made it to the ranks of those who are QRO.
I hope happy holidays, for you and your family.
When it's time, it's time, and it maybe sooner than you think.

    Bob

I'm sure you will be glad to get it back on the air for sure and I'm sure the $75 was well spent on the radio 8>)

I must say it was quite a change when I received my 5000 still had the 7700 a lot of difference. But then this I just had to buy a used K3/100 now have 2 loaded plus a P3/SVGA/KPA500 amp/KAT500 auto tuner/W2 wattmeter/K2/100/KAT100 and soon a KX3 QRP rig oh yes an XG3 signal generator wonderful tool to own for a small bench.

Merry Christmas to ALL and "God Bless"
