remote operation in contests...

Hi all

I did not find this through searches...

What is the exact policy of remote operating a rig in a contest within this scope - I have been reading through some of the contest rules (CQWW, CQWPX and ARRL) and they are pretty vague on this subject (perhaps intentionally)

scope:
- Remote operation is allowed in the licencee's country
- Being used within the same country
- the station follows the rule of no RX antennas and 500m radius etc.
- the user owns all the equipment.

and ++ as I have heard about users taking part in contest remote as multi-singe.

or is this perhaps just no issue at all ?

Hi dear Benny,
I am also worry for thats,because one of station has callsign EK3GM and his QTH locatyor LM39ns and this territory has Azerbaijan Republic area and regulated with Azerbaijan Rigth but this guys work from Azerbaijan and take call armenian it is very wrong and need repons from CQ WW rules Right....

ok - just to clarify -

I'm not asking this question to get people into trouble or anything - I'm all for remote operation - and I just want to stand clear on this - My native language is Icelandic, not English - so I'm just thinking if I'm not reading the paragraphs in the rules correctly - or if I should read between the lines..etc..

I can't see that the rules in CQWW/CQWPX/ARRL DX exclude me for participating using my station in a summer house and me staying home... or what ?

If he operated from Azerbajan using Armenian callsign you must report to Contest manager - no to this forum.

I would be interested in the ruling also,
As a new ham and one the lives in an apartment, I am excited when I Qso using remotes within the US.
But if the rules state that it will not count, then I will exclude DX contacts
