My Alinco DM-33OMVE made some QRM om 80m, 160m and below. Some ferrite with high AL in the power cord helped a lot.
The fan on the back side is 24V DC. It was silent for some years, but now it is replaced with a 12V fan and a 12V voltage regulator. I didn´t find any good 24V type.
    Now it is silent again.

    Nah,
You can get an MFJ 4125 and tame that %&#@! with the Alan Bloom Fan Mod. Far circuits has a kit.

The real question is how deep are your pockets or how much do you think you can spend on this device.

It really does make a difference.

It also depends on if you want something you can carry around easily or if you think something that weighs more than your radio would be better.

The Astron 35M will be able to power your station from now til you die {probably, actually the supply will still be working after you are long gone again probably} and would be a very good investment.

The Astron 20 is smaller cost usually much less and is all that many hams have had since they started out. I have one that has served me faithfully for years. I use that one for my bench supply. I've added a voltage meter and an amp gauge to it just because I wanted to. The 35M comes with those I'm pretty sure.

I also have a Samlux 1223 switcher that is quiet on all bands. I use that for my TS-120S a lot.

Personally I started out building my own analog supplies. Generally I build a dedicated supply just a bit larger than I really need for a rig. I have to admit that finding good affordable transformers as large as I want is getting tougher.

It used to be that you could snab a useable transformer from an old television. The new TV's don't even have a big transformer in them anymore.

Lately I have been converting computer power supplies for low power rigs. I can easily run my 45 watt 2M rigwith my latest converted computer supply with no hash on any of the bands. I normally have the 2M rig sitting here 'cooking' while listening on the HF bands with one of the HF rigs.

I've had good luck with the $35 switching power supplies off ebay. Most people don't know, but if you need a quiet switcher you can add another L/C on the output and really take the ripple down. It is in the TI/National info if you need a really quiet switcher. I routinely get 2-3mV ripple worst case with the additional L/C filter.

Same here. I've had mine for ten years (the MV model that preceded the MVT model) and have never experienced any RF or audio noise problems from it.

The quietest power supply you can get is a battery bank.
Most all commercial equipment- including old MA BELL herself all uses battery banks.

I personally use Astron for most all the shack 2 70 amp supplies a VS and a RS-70M but also have 2 Samlex supplies and they are very quiet. Both of the Samlex supplies have been on running 24/7 for the last 6 years one is a SEC-1223 (23 amp) the other a 1235.

In a recent issue of QST magazine they compared power supplies for quietness/RF/reliability the Samlex SEC-1223 came out as a best buy and only $99 new retail. I would voice that opinion also.

Yeah but the chargers on these things can be a real problem and you do have to charge them from time to time. They shouldn't be inside the house even though they are inside the building MA BELL has/had.
Get a linear PS and you'll definitely have your quiet as a grave unit. Try the power supply out at a dealer if possible and listen for excessive hum from the transformer. Some supplies have a bit of that "I've got power" hum. Some other supplies have fans but not many and usually they are quiet.
    Have fun
