Default Shure 444 mic to TS590

hi all after reading good reviews of the Shure 444 microphone I have ordered one on ebay.My question is the mic insert in the 444 is high impedence and the mic input to the TS590 is about 500 ohms do I need to get an impedance transformer to run it with the TS590.Also wondering if anyone is using one of these mics with a TS590 and how does it go

Shure (Chicago, IL) made at least 3 versions of this model (444, 444D, 444T) as well as
OEM versions privately labeled as General Electric, EF Johnson, and others.

ALL FACTORY MODELS used Shure Controlled Magnetic microphone cartridge at 150 - 600 ohms (Z).

Shure 444 used the R5R cartridge with a Hi-Z output (may have had built-in transformer).
Shure 444D used the R111 cartridge with dual / selectable (Z) output impedance.
Shure 444T had a 2-transistor preamp in base with 1,000 ohm (Z) output impedance.

hi thanks for the quick reply,I think the mic that I am getting is the 444 with high OP impedance, I will have to find a 50k to 600 ohm transformer to match it to the TS590.Hope there are some available.I think that the 444 mic should go well

The transformer will also transform the voltage to make it a lot lower than specified. After the transformer there may not be enough signal left to drive the 590S, but I guess you'll find out! Let us know.

G3TSO took this DIY approach for impedance (Z) conversion with the Shure 444.

You could use a small perf board to DIY Build the same.

Just a follow up the Shure 444 arrived and works perfectly into the TS590 without a matching transformer.Nice audio
