Default CW on an iPad with Paddles

I've been running my station (IC-718 and autotuner) on my iPad around the house and off site using wi-fi and HRD. I love it. The digital modes are easy to operate using VNC or Spashtop. Using VNC and Skype, I'm able to work ssb with a headset. I can operate CW with the keyboard, but would much rather use paddles with the iPad. I use a Signalink USB to interface the radio audio to the local PC, so when operating ssb, the Signalink allows VOX like operation....My speaking into the mic on the iPad keys the radio. So, question is, have any of you come up with a solution, for example using a keyer with audio output feeding the ipad or laptop?

I know there are two companies, IK Multimedia and Apogee, that make audio inputs for the iPad. I have both an iRig and an Apogee Jam, and they work great (they're meant for using an electric guitar with Garage Band). Both companies also make audio and mixer inputs for iOS devices. Maybe you could run the audio output from your keyer into an iRig, for example, then from that into the iPad. Might be worth a try?

Thanks Ray. For ssb use on the iPad, I have an adapter that converts the tip-ring-ring-sleeve connector to 2 rca females. I'm thinking of modifying an electronic keyer to tap into the sidetone audio and feed that into the mic rca connector. Will be an interesting experiment. Anyone have suggestions on a cheap memory keyer that might be appropriate for this?

    Thanks,
