AFAIK, there were only two 1000 watt DC input plate-modulated AM transmitters ever manufactured for the amateur market. The first was the Collins KW-1, the second was the Johnson Desk Kilowatt.

Now everybody is going to come down with Johnson envy.......
I thought I could get rich in the stock market by investing in

Hell, I figured that there was always somebody somewhere either trying to
Get it up
Get it going

I'm not sure why this is anything to get excited about, but okay.

It's a ham radio thing. If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand.

Its a ham radio thing but only if your interested in vintage equipment! It's just another way of saying that if you don't go Ga-ga over vintage equipment your not a real amateur radio operator.

I actually meant the KX3 edging out the competition on Sherwood's table. That's what I can't get too excited about.

You can't judge a book by its cover. You have to weigh it.

I agree on that, one mighty expensive QRP rig. Six months from now someone will have even better numbers; as if it really matters after a certain point.

Thanks for your card, no dollar needed.
To say I'm a little bit behind on my QSLing duties would be the understatement of the year. Standby and you will receive the card.............Last week I recruited a "helper" who should start getting all of my cards out on a timely manner soon.
Just made QSO #21,000 of the year last week & I estimate there are 1,300 - 1,500 cards here that need to be filled out & mailed. I haven't sent out any cards for 10 weeks now which has not been very bright on my part.
