I have a Kenwood TS-2000X. I've been very satisified with it's receive capabilities. I'm sure there are more sensitive rigs out there like the IC9100, but for under 2 grand I think the 2000 performs very well I enjoy working 2 meter SSB and 1.2 GHz SSB. It also is satellite ready and has great computer control software that you can buy. And with the Kenwood HT you can be working out in the yard and talk on HF with Skycommand II. For me it is all up to your personal preference; so get the 160-440 rig you think you'll be most comfortable with.
