Sometimes I move things to wipe the cat hair and dust from underneath and behind the gear. Does that count?

It never stops. Half the time I can't do anything with the station because half the cables are disconnected, something on the bench is stuck in a station position--so on and so forth. Hell, this would be not half the fun if everything was perfectly set up and all I had to do was operate and dust it every year or so...

One more thing about reconfiguring, thank God for PowerPoles. Moving power strips goes a lot faster when you don't have to unscrew and rescrew binding posts.

If you have to worry about the cost of HF e-mail, you can't afford the boat.
CW: The mode that accomplishes the most with the least circuitry, the least spectrum, and the least power.

I am on the fourth generation of my station....
The next time will require a bunch of wood and some time along with a new tool or two...
Shelves lots of them are needed.

In 51 years of operation at ten different addresses in MI, IL,TX, VA and back to MI,
I have built, added, changed transmitters, recievers, converters, Transceivers, antennas, benches, desks ETC, dozens of times! Gone from 80M only to 80/40M CW, 6M AM, 10M AM All band HF, 2M AM , FM, SSB/CW -220 MHz FM--6M SSB CW then 160M CW, 30M CW and now 60M CW and back to 6M SSB ! Every few years I try something different. I even worked 2M packet for a few weeks in the early 90's
There were a couple of amps too, 1kW Homebrew at the first house in Detroit, then I had a Henry 2K at the 2nd house and so far none have made it to this house.
I have had mobile set-ups for the HF bands, FM on 10, 6, 2, 1-1/4 and 3/4 M at different times and in different vehicles.
At one point I lived in a tiny apartment and had a shelf in a bedroom closet allocated for an active Ham radiio receiver , transmitter and power supply ! I developed film and printed photos in a corner of the bathroom.
Just at this house I have relocated my station to and from 3 different rooms as My Three Sons left home and came back and left again.
Finally all kids are married and in thier own homes and I may have made my final (?) move from the family room to a former bedroom, my own "mancave" with all my hobby stuff secure.
I also rebuilt one other abandoned son's room into a library with shelves for the hundreds of books we have had all over the house before.
Life is good !

Mine is more of a "pilot" arrangement, You know, pile it here, pile it there, anywhere it will fit I gotta get to it one of these days while I'm still able to. 73,Michelle

Like most of the others said my shack is a work in process. Its never quite done. For a few years I was changing it a few times a year while I was looking for the ideal place in the house to put it.
We have changed houses three times since we were married too so that counts I think.
This last configuration has stayed pretty static for the last several years. I am looking to move it onto what was my daughters room now tho, just to get awayfrom the TV.
