As for CW helping to improve hearing sensitivity....Did the OP tell the audiologist he worked on his hearing by listening to signals from the moon...???? I am sure THAT would catch some attention from someone.

Yes sir, the audiologist was very kind and I felt he conducted a thorough examination. In fact, he didn't waste any time and quickly referred me to a specialist for another assesment...
