Well just when you think you know it all you get bit. So I was rearranging my office/hamshack and switched computers to use my Icom IC-718 and SignaLink USB.
So hooked up everything, set the soundcard setting on the puter and the dang thing would not key the radio but the PTT light was on the SL, after about and hour of trying other computers with no luck I said I'd better check again that my cable from SL to acc jack on the 718 was ok, no bent pins but guess what that danged cable will go in UPSIDE DOWN! Turned it over and it works.

So I got out the Sharpie and put a big black line on the top, go figure.

Bonehead award for the day for me.

Yup. I did the same thing with my TS-2000 the first time. Now I take special care to make sure the notch is going the right way when I plug it in.

I was really relived that I didn't fry anything, kept all the smoke in the radio!
