Cavalla Historical Amateur Radio Society group will be operating N5BPS ( the WWII original call of submarine Cavalla was NBPS) from the radio room of USS Destroyer Escort Stewart located on Pelican Island ( NA 143) during the upcoming RSGB IOTA contest.


The group is actively working on restoration of WWII radio equipment on both ships - USS submarine Cavalla and USS DE Stewart located near Galveston TX in Seawolf Memorial park .

Operating from WWII veteran ships is a rare experience and all visitors are welcome to “come aboard” Stewart's air-conditioned radio room(!) to operate.
