Debian/Ubuntu users: kernel 3.5 upgrade yet?

Debian/Ubuntu users: have you received kernel 3.5 upgrade from the repository stream yet? I haven't seen any sight of it yet, even though I have my machine scripted so that it automatically searches for kernel updates when I start a terminal session. Granted, 3.5 has only been out for a few days, but I'm always interested in what's new.

The only benefit of 3.5 (at least from what I read on Slashdot) is some updates to ext4. Anything else of note?

Right now Debian is in freeze for Wheezey and only bug fixes will be coming through Unstable and into Testing until the release. This means that since Wheezey is targeted to receive the 3.2 series kernel, that is where Debian will remain until release. Once Wheezey is released, look out as the kernel may jump straight to 3.7 or 3.8!

As Ubuntu (and derivatives) 12.04 is a Long Term Support release, it also will be relatively stable with regard to the kernel. You might find a PPA with the newer versions or you might need to try the 12.10 development series.

Thanks. I'll get the kernel update via PPA, but I'll wait a few weeks or so just to make sure that there aren't severe bugs.

I haven't done that in a while. It might be fun.
Ever since Kernel 2.0 I have a rule set in stone.
Don't run the "odd" versions of the kernel.
Run 3.2, stay away from 3.3, etc....

Good advice. Looks like if I do the kernel upgrade now, I'll also have to update the nvidia driver. I'll wait in that case. Took me long enough to get the screens working right last time.
