K9HMM Clarence "Cap" Langley SK July 15 2012 Age 91
Clarence (Cap) Langley, 91, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2012. He was born in Clinton, Indiana on June 24, 1921 to John James and Hannah Chadwick Langley from Bristol, England. He had two brothers, James and Fred, and a sister, Elizabeth.
Cap was a creative entrepreneur at a young age, building and fixing electronics, working with wood, and creating his own photography business. He was an Eagle Scout and also achieved the Boy Scout Order of the Arrow. He served in WWII in the Coast Guard as a radio operator on the USS Allentown from 1942 to 1945 in the South Pacific. Cap was a 32nd degree Mason.
In 1945, he married the love of his life, Mildred Bonucchi, who preceded him in death in 2005. They moved to Danville, Illinois where he worked and retired from TeePak. During their 60 years together, they enjoyed an active life of tennis, dancing, travel, woodworking, and outdoor adventures. They were amateur radio operators and active members of the Danville Kiwanis. Together they were awarded Kiwanis of the Year in 2000.
They had 3 daughters, Nancy (Mike) Hall, Laura (Lanny) McAndrew, and Susan (Greg) Reuter and an infant son, Eric, who preceded them in death. In addition to their daughters, Cap was loved by his four grandchildren, Corey (Theresa) Mayer, Jaimi (Shane) Prince, Adrienne Reuter, Nathan Reuter and four great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Abigaelle Mayer and J.D. and Hannah Prince. He was a member of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, July 19th at 2:30pm. Reverend Rhon Carleton will be officiating. Visitation will be from 1- 2:30pm, immediately prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
