Flex 3000 and accessories

Due to a recent relocation, my HF activities are now restricted to portable and mobile operation, and I am parting with my Flex 3000. Bar none, this has been the best transceiver I've owned.
The transceiver and accessories, purchased in late 2011, are in perfect condition. I will sell with all accessories, or on an "a la carte" basis at a different price point. $1,650 for package including PC firewire card; $1,600 for package excluding firewire card (depends if you need one or not). Payment via PayPal is most preferred and will ship same or next day (CONUS). Package includes:
- Flex 3000 HF-6M w/Auto Tuner
- Flex VFO / Controller (sits on desktop)
- Heil HS-32 Handswitch
- Heil PR781 Microphone
- Desktop Mic Stand
- Mic Adaptor Cable
- PC Firewire Cable w/toroids
- BNC to SO239 Adaptor
- PC Firewire Card
I'm already missing this transceiver. It's in the top four in 2KHz dynamic range (see http://www.sherweng.com/table.html) From the Flex Website: "When bands are crowded with strong signals, the ability to hear a weak signal a few KHz away from an exceptionally strong signal is what separates a decent receiver from a superior receiver. Software defined radios with high performance A/D and D/A converters really shine in this area ....the FLEX-3000 is designed to handle large signals at any frequency spacing. This means that the IP3 at 2 KHz and 500 Hz is exactly the same and the end result is that the FLEX-3000 can hear very weak signals inter-dispersed between very loud signals. The FLEX-3000 obtains an IP3 at a 2 KHz spacing of greater than +20 dBm with the preamp off."

Hi there.
I'm interested in this rig. I'll need to "discuss" it with the XYL of course :-) But I can't really hiold it out on her; I've been looking for a new rig after being QRT for 25 years. I've fired up a 30+ year old Icom ic740 and gotten back on the air with it - and it's great to be back on the air - but the totally-pre-digital design makes modern things like "computer controlled anything" and DSP roughly impossible.
I've been considering other SDRs, namely the Elecraft K3 and the lesser Kenwood 590s, and just started looking beyond the ads for Flex Radios in depth yesterday - watched their on-line videos, etc. Very interesting!! Wondering how you integrate with computerized logging programs? Run them on the same PC? Separate machine?
Anyway - this deal may help make up my mind for me so to speak; it sounds to be a complete tun-key package so I don't have to nickle-and-dime myself to death iof I go the Flex route. All in all an attractive proposition. Might I ask where you're located? I'm in Oregon, and with a W1 call I'd expect you're not close by...

I have a Flex 3k Chris, and live just up-the-road from you. If you want to take one for a drive some afternoon, you're invited by the shack to play radio.
Reply off-thread. As they say, "I'm good on QRZ".

The above email is not valid, so here is the content.
I was just ready to put some equipment on ebay
to sell so I can buy a new flex-3000, but I saw yours today and saw it was like new.
You picked everything that I wanted to get for it as well as for use with my flex-
1500. Great radio.
Anyway, before I put my equipment up for sale, I wanted to see if you would be
interested in an Icom ic-706 or ic-706mkiig. Since your were going all mobile
portable I thought you might be interested in a trade with boot money in your favor
as well.
I have the following in excellent condition, non-smoking, never mobile or portable
and with original packaging and accys that came with them:
1 - IC-706
1 - IC-706mkiig
1 - icom (matching) at-180 tuner with cables (no box)
1 - 250hz cw filter (in 706)
2 - 350hz cw/data filter
1 - 1.9khz ssb filter
1 - voice synth. module (in 706)
1 - icom ut-106 DSP module (706mkiig already has one built in)
Neither of these radios have any mods. I don't believe in them.
Let me know if you would consider any trades and again, money to boot for you if
necesary.
Thanks, de N3EDS, Jeff
