Default Wouxun Programming SW - Question

Does anyone know anything about programming software (KG-UV Beta 0.1.4) for the Wouxun offered by KC8UNJ - Jim Mitchell? It's freeware and supposedly does a better job than the SW provided by the Chinese manufacturer.

    Someone please advise… 73s

I use Jim's software. It is easier to use than the software provided by Wouxun.
Back when I had a VX-6R I used his software for that too.
I haven't had any problems with either one.

I'm going to use it on a Mac. Do you have any knowledge about it running on that operating system?

I have never used a Mac so I can't help. I have only used it on Windows XP SP3.

    Tom, TNX!
I downloaded it on another PC (Windows system) and tried programming the radio. However, I was unable to activate the repeater. I added the correct tone and haven't figured out why I can't get it to work.

Make sure you added the tone to the tx freq and not the rx.

Some repeaters require a PL or DPL for input and also for output. Be sure you have the proper input and output frequencies as well. Then of course whatever repeaters you may be attempting to access could possibly by down for some reason or other.

Excellent products. Excellent support. Make sure you send him a couple bucks ... although he doesn't ask you for it ...
