Default FT60R won' talk to FT60 Commander

Connected cable(Prolific) to USB port, the driver(v4) is installed and the computer is happy. Opened FT60 Commander(v1.0) and followed instructions for transfer but the radio shows RX and will not transmit. What am I doing wrong?

Pretty vague when you say it shows RX. You have to follow the connection instructions and transfer instructions precisely. Once the Radio is in CLONE it will remain that way until the memory is full. You then turn the radio off, disconnect the programming cable and then turn the radio back on. If it shows ERROR that means you have a frequency that is out of range. You must be sure you have the proper shift selected for each memory.

Sorry I wasn't clear. With the cable connected and the radio off I hold the monitor button in and turn on the radio. Then I select CLONE and press F/W. ---Rx--- appears in the display. I then release the monitor button and the computer display says that it is listening and I should press the PTT until it transmits (transfers the data). The problem is It never transmits.

Make sure it's not locked BEFORE you start the process. Then play around with the Alternate Write and Apply HW Config, one at a time. I just tried to simulate what you say you're doing but this is all I can think of. I got FT-60R Commander when I bought my FT-60R and only had to play around with those settings once when uploading to a friends radio.

My VX8DR will display ---TX---when I am moving data from the radio to the computer. Are you sure you have the button sequence correct? My sequence is different that what you have described. I have found that YAESU radios don't differ very much for programming and operating at the basic level. Might be a case with the FT60R is something different I have not seen. Hope you get it working.

I am not sure what you mean by LOCKED. I am using windows XP. The s/w is FT-60R Commander v1.0.0. Is there a better program? Thanks!
