Cool CATbuttons 100 memory buttons and more for Flex PowerSDR - now on web site

100 memory buttons and more for Flex PowerSDR

I am pleased to announce that CATbuttons v1.0.1 is now availabe free from my web site http://www.qsl.net/zl3dw.

CATbuttons works like a car radio there are 100 memory positions (10 banks of 10). The program also interfaces with MixW(TM) for CAT commands.

CATbuttons works on PCs with Windows XP. It needs the Visual Basic runtime files, which will probably already be on your system. If not you can download the runtime files from Microsoft or there is a full version of CATbuttons which includes the Runtime files, on the FAQ page of my web site.

I created CATbuttons for two reasons. Firstly I was frustrated with the memory function in PowerSDR (TM). I wanted a quick and easy way to store the current frequency and other parameters and recall them by pressing a button rather than delving into a menu based system. CATbuttonsworks a little like the buttons on your car radio, simply press ‘Save’ and then the button position that you want to use.

Secondly I wanted to use my Flex radio with digimode software, in my case MixW(TM). The problem was that with only one monitor, the Digimode screen sits on top of PowerSDR(TM) and it disappears when you go to change a filter setting or any other function on the Flex radio.

With CATbuttons you can run PowerSDR(TM) minimised but still control the features I wanted, such as; mode, mute, VAC, and the filter width.

If you save your favourite digimode frequencies to memory buttons you can easily swap between bands and band segments.

Now I have two monitors and normally run PowerSDR(TM) on one with MixW on the main monitor with CATbuttons at the bottom of the screen.

CATbuttons has full help and an uninstaler.
