Interesting concept. I wonder how well it will stand up to the rigors of everyday weather. It's so light and looks sturdy, not a lot of droop on the elements. How much would it cost to build that? What is the resistance of the elements and how much loss does it contribute?
This looks like something that would be fun to build.
Now having seen the video it does have some flex to it and at one point it looked like he was stringing some wire along the element and clipping it to the element. That would explain a few things. Still, something like this would be a good idea for field day or an easy to put up, light weight antenna. I tried something simular with an 8JK array. That took way too long to put up and take down. Translation, it was not a good way to go but hey, it worked just fine.

I agree with Gary's comments above and it is a delight to see something like this that actually exists (and works, from what I can gather from the videos).

I often used to dream of a multi-element 6M beam that was featherlight and could be used for hill-topping with ease; looks like this is the result of a very similar dream. I thought of using copper foil tape over fiberglass but never got around to trying to homebrew one after purchasing an M2 Yagi that fulfilled my needs.

Would love to know more about these carbon fiber Yagis and where they are made (commercially or is the video example a prototype?), etc.

At any rate, it's great to see ideas like this come to fruition; it puts operating portable back into the spotlight for me in a big way.

Exceptional Daniel, Where did you get the carbon fiber rods? Can I Google it and get the information? Do you have sites that you can reference to?

Thanks, Daniel; I'll stay tuned and keep an eye on your site for further developments with interest.

Are you or will you be doing anything with 6M?

I've had numerous carbon antennas over the years....of course they didn't start out that way.
