Scenes from the late 70's appearing again...
I remember me and my friends getting together to pound the keys on those new home computers. We would bounce ideas off each other in a free wheeling group. The ages where from a 12yr old all the way up to a 40yr old man (I thought he was old at the time, me being twenty something).
Now in San Fran."... in a third-floor apartment, there are enough Ikea bunk beds to sleep 10 people, crammed into two bedrooms. The living room is bare except for a futon, a tiny desk and laptop power cables strewed across the hardwood floor like a nest of snakes. The tenants, mostly men in their 20s, sleep next to heaps of dirty laundry. There is no television set; the men watch online video, on laptops with headphones...."
"“The intellectual stimulation you get from being here is unparalleled,” Mr. Carden said. “If you’re wanting to do something to change the world and make it a fundamentally better place, you need to be around the right people.”

MassDrop has recovered to “ above-ramen status, but not that much higher,” Mr. El-Hage said.
I wonder if this sentence rings any bells with anyone??

Speaking of RAMEN, I just had a bag. NO, not cooked. I didn't want to hafta wash my RAMEN BOWL or boil some water, so I just took a bag and ate it DRY! Nice and crunchy, and tasty. Of course, I don't put any of the seasoning on it, but that could be made into a nice Chicken Soup if I wanted. But then I would hafta boils some water which is too much trouble. I was STARVING after walking the swapmeet, and squandering the big bucks on YET STILL ANOTHER GPS, to make another APRS Tracker. Then I ordered another Byonics Tiny Tracker 3+ to go with it. So, with almost $100 spent on RADIO JUNK, I had no budget left for FOOD, so RAMEN it WAS! That takes care of Breakfast and LUNCH. Maybe my good wife will buy me dinner!

You could probably eat good for a week off one of the pit bulls. Just something to keep in mind.

Scenes from the 70s!!!
See WA6MHZ sitting out in my 72 Dodge B-200 van, all carpeted and paneled, with a bed in the back.
Since it is all enclosed, no windows to peek in. But there is SOMETHING GOING ON inside!
Hopefully the van is in a well-ventilated area, but if not, you might detect some PECULIAR FUMES coming out from the bottom of the vehicle. That is because of the SMOKE HOSE!
Yes, the van had a little cabinet over on the Port Wall, that held the backup battery and other thingys. But there is also a clear plastic hose going to a hole in the van floor.
If the VAN is ROCKING, don't bother KNOCKING!!!
But more likely, if you got me to open the door, U would find me on the SHAG CARPET FLOOR, with a big BEAN BAG, and a very IMPROVED temperment. Some kind of plant was being COMBUSTED inside there! HO HO!!!!
Oh, those were the DAYS! I spent THOUSANDS of hours in that van. And, to commemorate the great era, I still have the Van's front STARBOARD DOOR in my Living room. No kidding! I will hafta take a pic of it and post it here on QRZed

OK, so who else went disco-ing in their polyester leisure suits?

Is sleeping in a doss house with ten sweaty blokes listening to online video's wearing headsets, going to create intellectual stimulous to change the world ? Still I suppose they have as much chance as those politicians who spend our money at G20. And they probably smoke weed as well !
