Wow cool, I have 1200 entries in LOTW, 604 confirmed and 36 WPX Mixed with 364 left to go. Yay

This old man likes it. So far the system has logged me with 27 different prefixes, all taken from my 29 most recent QSOs and I assume the computer will search backwards chronologically until the list is complete. It will be interesting to see how long it takes. I find that the list provides another perspective whether or not an award is sought.

Let's see: Cost of basic WPX via LOTW is 400 * 0.12 = $48 in LOTW fees + $12.00 WPX Award (If you are not a CQ subscriber ) = $60.00.

Same award, just apply directly to CQ, using your confirmed QSL's in LOTW as the basis for the CQ paper application. Just fill out the paper form and sign a promise that you have all QSO's confirmed. (CQ awards are on the honor system.)

It is $0.00 in LOTW fees + $12.00 WPX award + postage to get award application to CQ.

Will anyone pay $48.00 to avoid filling out an "honor system" form and mailing it in?

I was wondering when someone would mention that. I know when I applied for WPX I signed a form stating I had the cards in hand, and agreed to present them if I was asked. Checked the present rules at the CQ site and nothing has changed. Now when LoTW loads up for WAZ, they will be on to something.

@YB1AQD Yes I thought LoTW would check the whole log, like the other awards, but so far it does not. I had to go through all of my confirmed QSOs and tick each one!!! I did do that and ended up with 427WPX which is enough for the Basic certificate. I wish I had done more reseacrch I did not know you could submit a list using the honour system, I thought that the only alternative to LoTW was to send the cards away to the USA (like DXCC used to be for us in ZL - we have a card checker now). It cost me $56 I am a CQ subscriber too, so I guess I wasted a lot of cash. Worse still the Award page on LoTW is NOT showing the WPX QSOs as 'Applied'. But there is a record of the application.

I had to go through and manually tick every confirmed QSO. It is able to reject the dupes though
