EDIT: QRZ XML subscription lookup works fine here.
Looks like a lot of unanswered questions on that forum link.

I guess users will need to pay for the new version to get all of the questions answered and bug patches.

A patch would be better than another 100 MB download.

HamQTH says that their data came in part from user contributions. That simply means that someone took a legally obtained copy of QRZ's data and "gave" it to HamQTH. That argument doesn't old up in the music or video copyright court, and it doesn't work here either. If any of QRZ's internal callsigns appear on their site, then their entire database is drawn into suspicion.
Did you even attempt to contact them? You know since anyone can submit data at hamqth it could have come from anyone. Or are you just mad cause another website is providing compition for you.

we all know how you and your mods treat people from the island of misfit hams around here.

HamQTH was born because qrz.com suddenly shut down the xml service so CQRlog's call lookup function didn't work any more. The owner of qrz.com could have invited people who write software to work out a way that would have benefited every one. But he didn't and so OK2CQR created his own call lookup website for CQRlog. I can't be sure, but I doubt that Petr hacked into the qrz.com database. Still, having his entry deleted from qrz.com is in my opinion too hash and goes against the brotherhood of that we hams should be. Had Fred been more cooperative then I would have gladly supported qrz.com, but now I don't think so.

BTW, it seems qrz.com has also fallen out of grace with Google. Before when you google a call sign the qrz.com entry is one of the first to be displayed. Now it is no-where to be found on the first page and on page two I get the xml link: http://xml.qrz.com/db/fill in call here. The qrzcq entry now graces the first page. Go figure.

I noticed that also. Maybe Fred wants it that way.

It could be that Google site verification is not working properly. If that was the case then the advertizements would not be giving QRZ credits.

VB has a way of getting the credit when a website is using it, but a referring website deserves it.

It may have been done to limit free lookups.

You can bet that HRD users will pay some bucks for QRZ to work properly with it.
