I have had seriously considered a decent popcorn machine, but don't have the room nor the funds for a good one, plus the microwave bags are so dang easy and quick, but a good machine would be epic!

We have two: the tabletop one in the post above/below, and the Presto PopLite; the former is terrible--it leaves a lot of kernels unpopped and it's very noisy, while we're very happy with the less-expensive but quieter, better designed, and higher capacity PopLite. Twenty bucks for one and you're good-to-go.

(For you UNIX guys I thought I'd crack a pun about a kernel panic but I'll refrain.)

I have an air popper, a "Stir-Crazy", one with a crank for putting on the grill, and plenty of other things I could pop popcorn in. What do I need one of those microwave things for? I wonder what would happen if I put a microwave popcorn in the toaster oven. Probably the bag would burn.
