    Default HRD & LoTW/eQSL

Ok after spending about 3 hours on this last night, I have to ask on the Zed for help.

After submitting my logs manually to LoTW and eQSL for some time now, I decided to let HRD do it for me (I was told it could). I'm still using Simon's last version 5.0 (I think the build # is 2893). I setup the LoTW account in HRD but it keeps coming up with "bad name". Not sure why since the name is correct. Looking into the help files it mentioned HRD Utilities. I downloaded that and had it configured in no time since it had good documentation.

HRD Utilities compared my logbook and noticed that my QSO's were not marked as LoTW uploaded and it said it would do that for me! (how nice). Except it didn't. HRDU went through the steps as I saw on the screen but nothing changed in the HRD logbook.

Same with eQSL. Everthing running in HRDU seem to function normally, even downloaded those nice QSL cards from eQSL! But again nothing changed in the HRD Logbook as far as being marked. None of the 20 or so QSO's were shown at eQSL.

HRDU even "uploaded" my 20 or so QSO's that it found in the HRD logbook, except my LoTW account doesn't reflect those 20 or so QSO's that were supposedly uploaded (I did give LoTW time to process my "upload").

To me this version has been good to me but I realize that I might have to upgrade. So.... is it this version of HRD that is causing problems or is it the enduser (probably)? Do later versions handle this better?

are you highlighting the qso's you want to download? Click on the qso it will turn blue. to hightlight multiple qso's hold down CTRL key.

I don't remember which version finally added LoTW upload, but eQSL has worked for some time. You must highlight the QSOs in HRD that you want to upload, then choose either LoTW or eQSL. I seem to remember that one older version did not change the upload/download status until you had logged out of the logbook then logged back in, but I can't remember for sure.

I recommend getting the latest "free" version of HRD, which works well with eQSL and LoTW. You don't need HRD Utilities anymore using the latest version of HRD. Of course, you do have to set up HRD with the correct login parameters for eQSL and LoTW.

Could have sworn I tried the highlight method... but I'll try it again. I do need to troubleshoot the internal LoTW settings. Something is amiss there since it won't recognize my account name even though it's there (and the path is correct). maybe it's time to upgrade to the latest version anyhow...

I think HRD Paid Support and a new version of HRD is in the works and may be required.

That may be part of your problem, and the HRD plans.

I will presume LoTW uploads manually through the TQSL software just fine. That is, you can save an ADIF file of QSOs and they can be sent to the League without error and post to your LoTW account. If so, check the HRD setting. The should look like this:

    Capture.JPG

Make sure the TQSL Executable points to TQSL.EXE and not TQSLCERT.EXE. Also be sure the Station Location matches the location you created in TQSL. If everything is set correctly, it should work fine.

eQSL is easier. The only two things needed is the user ID you use to log into eQSL as well as the password in the respective fields. Check Save Password to make it easier.

Are you getting paid commission from the boys who own HRD?

Although I have paid and await the new version I have had no issues uploading my log files to EQSL with any of the versions of HRD.

Every time I enter a QSO into the logbook it automatically uploads that QSO to EQSL. I do not have to highlight the entries then hit upload. Although that is easy enough to do, I just prefer to upload every log entry as it goes into the logbook.
