Default Yaesu VX8 - Bluetooth headset static / noise

Is anyone having issues with their VX8 and static while using a bluetooth headset made for cell phones? Ive used 4 different models from Plantronics and Jawbone but all of them have static / noise on them when nothing is being Tx'd or Rx'd. Its not terrible but really just annoying. Im 95% sure its just a weak signal between the headset and the bluetooth antenna because if I bring the radio close to my ear, it stops. I find it gets worse if the radio is on the opposite side of my body in relation to the headset. I have also tried this at several locations inside / outside but its just there.

I have tried enabling / disabling the power save function for the bluetooth radio and the noise stops when saver mode kicks in - but thats because it drops the connection to the headset and it goes into standby. As soon as its activated, the noise is there. Just slight crakling.

This is sort of a 2nd part of my question but also why Im asking. Does anyone use the actual Yaesu headset the BH-2A? Is there a 5 second or so delay if using power save mode on the bluetooth radio between the time you should be hearing audio and the time it actually wakes up so that you can hear audio? Also, if you attempt to transmit while power save mode is active, do you have the hit the PTT button momentarily to get it to 'wake-up' and then hold the PTT to actually be able to speak? Or, is it instant on/off while using power save and with the Yaesu headset?

Im trying to understand if the problems that Im experiencing are related to using headsets not truly designed for this unit - though all of them support the HSP profile used by Yaesu Yaesu Bluetooth Compatibility. This static / noise is not present on any of my headsets when used with my computer, phones, etc. I can live with the delays or just getting used to waking it up prior to actually talking but then again, the Yaesu and my JawBone are rated for 5-6 hours of talk time so disabling the powersave may be the answer there. Its really the static I find most annoying and if its not present with the Yaesu headset, I may just try it out. Im sure there are other benfits in using it since its designed for amateur radio use.

Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

I am really sorry there haven't been any responses here for you ... Have you called Yaesu tech support to see what they have to say?

I get the same exact problem with my VX-8DR and a Jawbone ERA. Please let us know if you find a resolve.
