I used a KT34 out on Guam and it handled a 110 mph Typhoon but lost it at 160. They are rugged. I think when all is said and done, there are many good antennas that will take your winds if maintained properly so price is probably the main factor.

Hi Dick,
I had a look on their website, wow, beautiful craftsmanship! Unfortunately their booms are too long.
For Tennadyne, After my reply to them (shipping details), I had no feedback. I tried to buy their product via their dealer in UK, but was roughly sent back to the US. I really like that antenna, but it seems that reviews complaining low service are justified. That is crazy, money is not an issue for me, and I am ready to pay what it takes to have it, but it still does not make it

I had a Tennadyne T-8 for many years in a hurricane prone area (Florida Keys) and it was the most reliable, hassle-free beam I ever owned. It survived a number of hurricanes. The elements were fairly flexible and bent considerably in high winds but never broke.

The only truly "continuous" coverage antenna is a dummy load. Various forms of "aperiodic" antennas do exist however....such as the Discone, Log Periodic, and certain wave antennas like the Beverage. However, I don't think anything will beat your monster Titanic.....I'd repair it any way possible...

repair the antenna and invest in a crank-down, tilt over tower...?

SteppIR is clearly the best. I've had a 4 ele up nearly 4 years with no problem and a buddy of mine twice that long. They beat ANY log periodic in overall performance. Yet, you seem to place various restrictions on your specs that seem to rule out the SteppIR. Hence, I'd suggest a 120 foot dipole fed with ladder line and an antenna tuner. You will get way more than 5db over an isotropic radiator and good SWR over the whole range!
No where near as good a a SteppIR but not bad.

SteppIR are nice, but I am a bit stressed about high UV on composite. I also like to jump from one band to the other "instantly", but for sure a 3 elements has a much better gain than any LPDA. A monoband for any frequency is just a dream...
For tilting mast, our land is really too small (24x90feet). Same about antenna beaming. So even crank down would still need to remain above the roof.
I would love to get the Titanex back into action, but it seems it made its time.... I want to start from "scratch".
No news from Tennadyne, but I got news from Cushcraft in Singapore. So let us hope....
By the way, who is making decent un-guyded "hydraulic type" crank up towers?
Thanks again to everyone for the feed backs

Got the T6. I had to go through the Dutch agent (go figure out) and ship it in Belgium. Will probably land at near $1,800 in Vietnam, but at least I get it.
