Help with ev 719 mic connection
Hi all, I have an EV 719 That I want to connect with a Heathkit SB 104. The 104 came with a 2 pin connection. This one has been changed to a 4 pin. I have no electronic background so here goes. Pin one is a jumper to the ground on the headphone jack. Pin 2 has a shielded wire to it and tagged with a #11 sticker. I am guessing this is for the audio . Pin 3 is a small grey wire tied into a wire bundle. Pin 4 is blank. The 104 original 2 pin was pin 1 as the audio that is shielded. Pin 2 is switch lead and ground from the braid. The EV 719 manual shows a wiring diagram not actually a schematic. Switch DPDT,switch shorts mic in off position. Mic cable wires are as shown in manual diagram. Shield, white, green, red and black. What color goes to which pin??? Thanks so much!! KF7UIK

Yes, on the SB-104 has the small diam shielded line labeled #11, for unbalanced audio in. It goes to pin 1 .The shield went to ground. A thin blue wire to the original pin 2 is for ptt. Some one modified it for a 4 pin connector with ground to pin 1 I guess. I happen to have a PDF file from electro voice 714, 717. That is a ceramic, high impedance, unbalanced mic. Mic audio to a red wire, #2. white #6 to a "transmitter cathode". Black #4 to a speaker circuit (to disable ?)
