It's a good thing being stupid in public isn't against the law or those guys would be in prision where they belong. Let me take a shot at him with my rifle and see how his body armor and badge hold up 7.62 NATO even .223.

I am sorry, I forgot this was qrz.com where most people take things the wrong way and reply with snide comments. I didn't say he was wrong for his ideals just wrong in his actions. I was also pointing out for all those that never heard of him or simply know of him from the anti whaling TV show that he is against a lot more than just whaling and is quite radical.

Very true. The show is right along with all the other current over-dramatized Discovery channel offerings and doesn't really give a realistic view (who'd have ever guessed that!) of what's going on.
He was an early and influential member of Greenpeace, but was booted in 1977 for various reasons including his strong, "front and center" personality and frequently voiced opposition to Greenpeace's interpretation of "nonviolence".
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (1977-present) has done a lot of good, albeit their questionable methods (frequently illegal).
Just some further info for those who aren't aware of the group or those who've only seen it on TV.

So much for so-called "reality TV" hey?
I wonder how things would be depicted if the emphasis of the show was with and on the side of the whalers and not the Sea Shepherds.

I've never called it 'reality tv'. 'Mostly unscripted tv' always seemed to be more accurate.
If you want that spin from the other side, just check out the whalers website. www.icrwhale.org It's somewhere under media>terrorism. It's just as bad as the lies the Shepherd's spin.

Australians have been annoyed by the "scientific" whaling to the south of us for quite a long time, even if we disagree with this guys methods. I happen to disagree with "scientific" whaling. If its so "scientific" measuring the rings in th earwax of whales, why do they sell the meat? If it stands alone scientifically (I would contend that it does not) then by that criteria alone it would be worthwhile??
