    Default AL-811H cooling fan

Anyone know of a good source for a fan like this? It is a 117V, 80MM 28CFM 1800 RPM fan. I think Papst originally supplied them. Mine finally quit after 16 years. Ameritron wants $18 for the fan, which is OK, but quoted me SEVENTEEN DOLLARS for UPS ground. That's NUTS.

I ordered some A3 parts from Cushcraft recently and the shipping was over the top on those, too. YIKES!

    It's really only 80mm? I didn't know that. The AL-80B fan is 120mm.

Anyway, if it's 80mm and AC powered, this one might work. It's $20.49 including shipping in the U.S.:

"Computer" type fans that are AC powered are becoming more rare, since they're almost all 12Vdc powered.

If the fan from Amazon in WIK's post above will not work for you, try Mouser Electronics.

Ordered the one from Amazon. I don't know why I didn't think of that. I use my Amazon Prime account mostly at Christmas, but have bought everything from soup to nuts. To fans.

The reason shipping from these guys is so high is that they won't take the part to the PO and so use UPS or FED EX which will come to there place, pick it up and take it to you. You are paying for there unwillingness to hire a runner -hi

Don't blame Ameritron, UPS is really sticking it to customers lately. Even though gasoline has dropped 40 cents a gallon, they still are adding the fuel surcharge and if you live in a rural area there is a delivery surcharge for that too.

Ask Ameritron if the will ship it via USPS. If they won't, then you can be mad at them.

    Default Al-811 replacement cooling fan

I have a new fan here which has a higher CFM rating then the original Ameritron fan. Better cooling for your amplifier. I can sell it to you for $23.00 including S&H to your USA address. These fans work great in these amps. Let me know if you are interested & I will pack it up for you. WY2M
