SimpleSat Look Down v1.0 now available

SimpleSat Look Down is a free, easy-to-use software app for satellite tracking.

Written by Tom Doyle W9KE it includes a satellite look down window that displays the view from the satellite looking down at the earth as it moves along.

It uses .NET 4 and runs on Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista and XP.

Tom has released a collection of videos that explain how SimpleSat Look Down works and they can be seen at

Very slick but don't you need to know the azimuth at the predicted AOS / LOS? How else would you know where to exactly point your antenna?
    Maybe I am missing something.
    Tks,

The first sentence in the video states it's more for demonstrations and educational purposes, not necessarily for tracking to work the satellites.

    Cool

But Oy! What happened to Windows 2000 Support. Yes, I know, Win2K support at MS was discontinued last July, but nonetheless it remains in my mind, when considering 'footmark' & resource greediness, the best little 'bare-bones' OS around, ideal for Development & Programming work. There's few bugs, and with SP4 and Service Rollup 1, with none of the other buggy updates, or anything else but .NET 2 (in my case), it's the fastest little OS around.

So why no support in so much 'modern' Software?
    — You'll regret it, you will.

But go on then, if such thinkers are to be labeled as Techno-Socio-Lepers, then let me at least, cash in on it.

I'm going to start programming with my Delphi 5 Std edition: apps for Windows Legacy editions, of interesting software, and for people who don't want all the bells & whistles of later Vista and bloomin' windows late or whatnot.

! (Thanks for this idea, to Steptoe and Son).

Country music icon Johnny Cash was a Radio Operator & Morse Code Intercept Operator for the US Air Force Security Service (USAFSS) while stationed in Germany in the early 1950s.
Before he was the "Man in Black," Airman Cash was the Man in Blue--Air Force Blue.
He had a "musical ear", meaning that he learnt Morse Code easily. He formed his first band while in the Air Force, called the Landsberg Barbarians. Johnny didn't have a first name until he joined the USAF: -
His birth certificate read, "J. R. Cash" as his folks couldn't agree on a name. Hence 'a boy named Sue', I guess.

'Canada' & 'Mexico' were names assigned by the SS to areas of the death camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau. 'Mexico' was for new inmates whilst 'Canada' was for the dead and their belongings.
