    Default Ten-Tec Omni VI value?

I came across an elderly ham today while hitting the yard sales. I noticed his antenna and got to talking with him. Well long story short he showed me his shack and told me due to recent illness and age he wanted to sell it all. The bulk of the shack was a Ten-Tec Omni VI he bought around 1995, and the tuner and power supply. He asked me what it was worth and how much I'd be willing to offer him for it. Can anyone give me a rough idea of the current rough value of these pieces. I just want some fair prices, I don't want to pay too much nor do I want to short change an elderly HAM.

My thought is, depending on filters, between 850-1000 dollars. With all the filters, I have seen them as high 1400.00, including PS.

A few months ago I bought a Omni VI with the stage 3 conversion, making it a VI+, with a 500hz filter, in fair condition, but working pretty well as far as I could tell, from the estate of an SK for $600. No power supply or speaker etc. No idea what the tuner or PS is worth but suggest not more than comparable tuners, MFJ type units.

There is a pristine (claimed) Omni VI+ with a 2400 hz filter on the Swap meet today for $1,000 plus $50 for each additional filter you want. I've seen them both sides of this asked price.

    I hope this helps.

I just bought an Omni VI/Opt 3 (with all filters except the 1.8KHz units) plus a 961 PSU from Evilbay...$730.

Another $150 netted me both of the missing SSB filters.

I've seen them for more...I've seen them for less.

If it were me I would look at everything that he owned for the hobby and make an offer. You didn't say if the tuner was an auto-tuner but I'm guessing it is if all of it works FB and exactly what all the radio has in it kinds of depends on the price but I would say a fair might be $1200 for all the TT stuff for both of you. There some things like the logic board that is no longer available from TT plus a few other pieces but it's an older radio.

All 22 ICs on said board are currently sourceable via the Internet.

I paid $1,200 for an Omni VI+ with all of the filters recently. Now, that is one that had the upgrade factory installed from VI to VI+, and I think that's significant, though the base radio is decent, too. I probably wouldn't consider more than $7-800 for the radio unless it's loaded. If' it has the upgrade to VI+ level, a bit more. The more I use this radio, the more I like it.
