Beam heading forDM780

It is real helpful that the DM780 shows the country when you highlight on a callsign. Is there any way to get it to also show a beam heading or does anyone know of a good beam heading program to use in conjunction with HRD?

HRD Rotor works several ways. First, it integrates with HRD logbook and when a QRZ lookup is done, the beam heading displays in the ALE window. Clicking it causes the rotor to move to that heading. You can also put in the callsign of the station and move the antenna to the resolved position, or choose the country to do the same. You can also use the Grid Square.

DM780 does not have a direct interface to the Rotor program. Maybe a feature that can be requested.

Of course, automatic beam direction control assumes you have a rotor with an integrated computer interface. I use a HyGain T2X with a Idiom Press card. Works great.

Thanks for the info. I do not have a computer interface with my rotor, but it would be great to be able to see the optimum beam heading to a station before initiating a call.

If you use HRD Rotor, and just put in calls/countries/grids, it will show you a heading. I think this may work for you as well.
