I've newly earned my ticket (General) and have most of the pieces I need to get on the air in HF. I still need a couple of items, and want to do so for a minimum amount of money. I may (and probably will) upgrade things in the future but I want inexpensive to start.
I have what appears to be an at least mostly working Kenwood TS-520. I do not have a microphone for it. Given that I'm not even 100% sure it works (it receives, and tunes into a dummy load, and it worked 15 years ago) I don't want to spend a lot to start to get a mic. I know it needs a high impedance microphone, so it's not as simple as it might be.
What's the least expensive way to get a reasonable mic for this thing?
Thanks, and 73!
Mike (itching to get on the air)
