Yaesu FT-290R Mk II 2m all-mode mobile
Since I had good luck in selling my Yaesu FT-690R Mk II and FT-790R Mk II... lets try this again :-)
I'm selling my Yaesu FT-290R Mk II 2m all mode mobile radio. I've had this radio since about 1999 or 2000... but don't really have a need for it anymore since I have an Ft-100, FT-857, and FT-817 (the FT-100 and FT-857 does all modes on 2m with more power and the FT-817 does all modes on 2m at lower power... and also less weight for portable use).
The radio comes with the 25w clip-on amplifier. If you want to use it on repeaters... it has the FTS-7A CTCSS Tone Board in it ((tones are set using dipswitches and you have to remove the clip-on amp to change tones). It also comes with the operating manual and the MH-15CA touchtone mic.
I don't have a battery case or 2m antenna for the BNC jack on the front of the radio. I had 3 radios and 2 battery cases... and the battery cases were sold with the FT-690R Mk II and FT-790R Mk II. You don't need an antenna on the BNC when using the clip-on amp as the BNC is disconnected (you use the antenna jack on the clip-on amp. If you want to clip an external battery onto the battery contacts on the back of the radio... then you could use any 2m or 2m/70cm antenna with a BNC on this radio.
The lights for the S-meter and display are out. I've been told that these aren't that hard to replace... but with my vision... I didn't want to try it.
According to the manual... the clip-on amp and FTS-7A CTCSS Tine Board are both optional accessories... so you could see others advertise this model radio without these.
Asking $250 shipped to the lower 48 states. I accept PayPal or postal money order.
