Robert R. Sr., of Palm Bay, FL, formerly of Oakland, NJ and long time parishioner of Messiah Lutheran Church, died at age 80 on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Chilton Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ.
Mr. Anderson, dear Husband of Patricia of Palm Bay, FL, dear Father of Catharine and Mari of Florida, Laura of Stuart, Fl, Robert, Jr. of Wanaque, NJ, Howard of Warwick, NY, Marianne of Newton, NJ, Wayne of Long Valley, NJ, and Steve of Oakland, NJ. Cherished Grandfather of Cassie, David, Carly, Lindsey, Kristen, Nicole, Steven, Jr., Jordan, Kaelin, Laiana, Cody and Allison.
Mr. Anderson worked for International Telephone and Telegraph (ITT) in Nutley, NJ for close to 40 years and spent most of his career as the Manager of the Avionics Division in development of the SR-71 Blackbird.
His hobbies include ham radio transmissions and control with call sign K2BJG and long time president of the Ramapo Amateur Radio Club. He is also a Veteran of the Korean War with service in the United States Navy. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May, 31, 2012 at 12:30 AM at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road (Route 202) Oakland, New Jersey. Burial will be at the Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood, NJ. Relatives and friends may visit the Funeral Home on Thursday from 10 am – 1pm. I'm really sorry to hear this. I knew Bob pretty well when I lived in NJ many years ago. Very nice guy, and very good ham.

He and John WB2CIK converted K2PUT from NetROM to FlexNet. He also helped keep the system running. I only met him a few times and talked mostly on the phone about the node/digi.
