Default Valve 60V PSU by G0CWA

Hi another of my projects a complete valve project power supply. This is an invaluable addition to my shack giving a wide section of power rails for your project.

    Vaiable HT 1.25-60v X4
    Variable LT 1.2 to 12V
    Fixed LT of 6, 12, and 13.8V

    A monitor DVM

And all this powered by a 13.8V supply or even high capacity rechareable batteries (eg car battery) for portability.

This is presented at makearadio.com on http://makearadio.com/visitors/nick-powersupply.php I give broad constructional details as the whole idea was to make/design it in such a modular way as to make it easy to tailor to your own personal application. I suppose the clever twist was to use fan cooled ex pc heat sinks for the regulator ics.

Enjoy the unit and I hope you are motivated to say I want one and make one for your shack. If building again I would also include a "floating D cell" for use with battery valves.

As always any comments greatfully recieved 73 for now Nick G0CWA.

Very good Nick. There are DVMs that cost just about nothing that could be used as a voltage display and current display. These are so cheap that you could actually buy one for each function. They are fairly accurate too. They are available on the internet but here we have Harbor Freight and they sell these meters for $5.00 each at times, sometimes less.
I saw the exact same meter being offered to the UK and it listed at over $150.00. Why is that? Do electron cost more in the UK? It just seemed strange.
    Have fun
