Default Kenwood D710 and Yaesu FT-350R control head cable

I've got a Kenwood D710 installed in my Jeep Liberty and recently picked up an FT-350R at a great price. They both use 8 pin modular connectors on the control head cables. Is there any reason not to use the Kenwood cable with the FT-350R? It would save me pulliing the seat out of the Jeep and re-running the control head cable.

I thought someone who owned these radios would answer this....

I suspect you have the manuals to both, and the pinout for both should be included. From that, you can deduce the answer. One thing to keep in mind. The modular cable supplied is made up of stranded cable. CAT5 cables are (almost) universally solid conductor which shouldn't be used in a mobile setting.

It looks like both factory cables are wired straight through and have 8 pin modular connectors. Even if the pin outs on the radios are different, if the cables are both wired straight through it shouldn't matter unless I am missing something?

I use a regular Cat 5e cable for my FTM-350.
Hater of all things "HT" and "magnet mount."
