Signal Link USB Intermittently transmits by itself.
After my until has been on for awhile, the rig (TS 570D) and laptop get warm, the signal link goes into transmit by itself every few minutes. I am using DM760 and HRD 4.1. Is it heat, software or adjustment?
When idling I have to turn the mic gain down to zero so I don't cause interference. It is very anoying when you are getting a call and it keys over him while trying to get his call sign.
Ideas?

Couple of ideas.
1st and I don't think it is related to the problem. Every radio is different and depending on which input you are using or radio mode you will have a hot mic. Switch to a different input or mode will stop than. However on that radio you may not have any choice. Tigertronics has a good page for setting the jumper block for all the radios with notations.
2nd, Make sure system sounds are not connected to the Signalink output.
3rd, If they are then maybe the level will not trigger the VOX on the SignaLink until everything warms up.
Let us know what you find.
Mike
PS Reread your post. Are you setup for digital and without changing anything move to a phone part of the band to work stations by phone? It's that sentence beginning with "When idling..." that is confusing me.

sounds like some background software is polling your USB ports

Since the signal link USB keys the radio via VOX, it's probably sound that is being directed to your radio, not port polling. There is a monitor jack on the back - plug some headphones into it and listen - maybe you'll find system sounds are being directed to it, or there's an open mic that's mixing in, bad connection causing static, aliens messing with you, or something completely different.

These are my opinions and only my opinions, unless you share them as well, which would make them our opinions, but I am not of the opinion that I can express your opinion as my opinion without your prior expression of said opinion, and then my re-utterance of that opinion would, in my opinion, be foolish unless I were expressing agreement to your opinion, and then it wouldn't be my opinion but your opinion to which I only agree.

Make sure the Signalink USB is not the default sound device for Windoze. I've lost count of the number of times I've heard the Windows error message or "You've Got Mail" at the PSK watering hole.

Bad choice of words. "When I am copying the mail" and have not requested to send anything. ( just like you hit send button without text in the transmit box like you might do when changing band and initially checking SWR.

Has HRD 4.1 worked for you in the past ?

It works for me very well. Only after everything has been running for a few hours (I leave the sytem up most of the day and pop in once and awhile) does it act up.

It could be something happening after the computer goes in to a low power mode.
Turning off all power savings may help.
