    Default 2 2 meter radios 1 - aprs 1 - repeter chats 1 200 f150 ext cab truck have questions

Didnt know there was a mobile forum -- I had posted this in the antenna forum but this is more of a better forum for my question

Want to know a little info and could use help

I have a 2000 f150 ext cab truck ( fron doors open reg the back 2 open suicide ) -- right now I have a icom ic2100h for local 2meter on a magmount antenna-- I have been getting into aprs and i have another icom ic28h that I want to use for aprs

what would the best thing to do

1 - install a nmo antenna ( drill hole where -- middle front or back ) for my main 2 meter rig

2 - use mag mount for ic28h for aprs -- where to locate the antenna

will I have issues with wattage from the 2100h messing up the 28h

thanks for all of your knowledge

If you want efficient antennas make both of them permanent mounts through the roof rather than one mag mount and one permanent. I have run multiple VHF radios in the same vehicle with minimal issues EXCEPT if one was transmitting too close to the receive frequency of the other. If the one radio is APRS only that shouldn't be an issue.
