A few years back I sold a bunch of 6 meter longwire antennas on ebay. That was quite successful until I hit a brick wall of medical issues. Well, I have now turned up some variable capacitors that were to be directed into building more antennas before the Doctors interfered with my playtime.
I can't see really closeup anymore, but the antenna does not require that.
If you'd be interested in a 6 meter longwire that I used at 25 ft above ground and got my VUCC with in 11 months, please tell me so. I'd be glad to be working on them while the band is dead.
I believe serveral people on QRZ purchased one from me. However, I am not going into full bore production. I'll finish out the last 30 or 40 antennas I can make with what is on hand.
Below is the link for my friend Brian's original article. I was challenged to do VUCC with this antenna by friends in a VHF group. I'd moved and still had the beam on the ground. The idea from the group was that if I can get VUCC on a wire, then what was stopping new people? I took that challenge and got my VUCC in 11 months of just sporadically operating.
New guys on 6, take a look. It does not take a ton of space and does not have to be too high. It honest to God worked for me as a DX antenna on 6 meters.
PS, if you want to make your own don't hesitate to email me at fiftymegs at juno dot com for help.
