    Default AL-811H Problem or Not?

    Hello,

Bought an 811H at Dayton and looked inside it and all appears good and what not.

Bring it home and read the book and start trying to tune it at higher power and the fuse blows on the back of the 811H.

I don't have a keyer or anything so all I was trying to use is the Flex 5000 TUN selection button.

The fuse doesn't blow at lower power just only when I put say 50 watts through it or so it quits.

The antenna is an A4S w/ the 40M add on kit

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Are you using it on 240V or 120V?

What band? How does the SWR look on that band?
There are sheep. There are wolves who prey on the sheep. There are sheepdogs who protect the sheep from the wolves. God protect those of us who are sheepdogs.

At 120V, you probably need at least 15A fuses, maybe 20A. At 240V, cut that in half...

    What is the fuse value?

Reread that section. Supplied fuses for ...110...operation are 12 amp. The 8 amp fuses are for ...220...operation
