Removing Capacitor and resistor on Yaesu MH-31 hand mic
i would like to ask, can i just remove the capacitor and the resistor on the yaesu mh-31 hand mic to improve the sound output quality ?
No it will not improve quality at all if you remove these.
If you want to make a greater difference between 1 and 2 on the switch replace 0.3 uF cap. with 0.1 uF or 100 nF ceramic capacitor.
The difference in audio between switch at 1 or switch at 2 will be a bit greater.
1 will be full audio and 2 will be more sharp audio for bad condx and DX.
The audio quality problems with the MH31 lie more in the rigs they are used on.
The FT857, FT897 and FT817 are not known for their very goo audio quality on SSB sir.
Hope that I could be of use.
thanks, how about the resistor ? do i need to change the value too or reattach it back ?
