That made me smile. However, the issue is that I like potatoes. The US govt says I should eat apples in their place though. I do like a good apple slaw.

Speaking of potatoes, the average tapa bar around here offers fried potatoes with egg, bacon, and cheese. I can also get a pack of smokes and a beer from a baker. I like it here more and more with each passing day.

We (The Wifoid and I) eat a lot of them since they're cheap meals. The red and gold/yellow ones are better for you than the brown baking potatoes--more Vitamin C and less carbs.

    follow the logic:

    • pit bulls are bad dogs
    • I'm a bad dude
    • ergo I get a pit bull
    • and be mean to the pit bull
    • so my bad dude dog will be as bad and mean as I am

it's the way they are treated by the fools who keep them
    just like dobies, shepherds, rottweilers...

kept by people with no concept of consequences or liability.

I agree, Danny. I suspect that those people--who keep watchdogs like that--who don't train and care for them are better off buying a household alarm system since it's obvious that they don't want to invest the time, patience, and training to make the dog obedient and safe.

In the case of pitbulls, I suspect they are victims of both gentics and environment. Jack Russel Terrorists are Bat **** crazy also, but they don't have enough mass to be a major threat to the average adult.

Beeds of dogs are predisposed to a general temperment. That's not good, that's not bad, it just is.
...and NO, it's not a vanity call, it just happened!

it isn't not training them. It's training them exactly wrong

start with an inherently loyal and territorial creature, with a bear trap full of razor blades on the front of its face. that you are responsible for. that can't differentiate between a dangerous intruder, a meter reader and a toddler.

imagine that the other sides lawyer has this picture when you get sued, and think about the consequences of training that dog wrong

many of the people who keep pit bulls et cetera are incapable of considering consequences. all they see is "Now that's what I'm talking about"

As a former JR owner (he died at 13 years old) and lover, they're no different than any other dog with the exception of energy and intelligence. Like all other dogs, their temperment and attitude will depend upon their owners.

When Wintson (my JR) was still a young pup, I used to tell people that I didn't think he'd live to see his 2nd birthday, or that he was giving me a brain tumor! Reason was not craziness, but for the first couple of years he was either a sleeping ball of white fur or a white blur! (LOL) Except for training sessions, during which he was very attentive, I think viewing it as slow playing.

My wife and I often remarked throughout his life that we were very lucky that he did not have thumbs!
