OK i thought i heard something but spent more time trying to set radio up. Im trying to use my TS2000 instead of my ht which is already pre-programmed. Question - do any of you have your ts2000 setup for satellites if so i need help. The manual isnt really clear on the subject so i need help.

    Any takers...

For one thing, with Doppler, you will want to start listening around 436.805. By mid-pass, it will be near 436.795. My the time you lose the bird, you will be listening around 436.785. Unfortunately a TS-2000 known "birdie" may affect your ability to hear AO-27 until it gets near TCA, when the bird is around 436.795. AO-27 is only turned on on passes over North American ascending from South-to-North and only for 7 minutes.

A check of the freqs at ...

    http://www.work-sat.com/Work-Sat/Sat_Skeds.html

... shows that you have the correct pair. A link there to the Live OSCAR Status Page shows that others are successfully working AO-27.
And the frequency chart available on that site in the tutorial gives you the downlink Doppler correction freqs, too.

AND - You need to make sure that the schedule for AO-27 has it in V/U mode for your particular pass. And a link for that program is
also on the SAT SKEDS page. Many times, it will turn on to V/U in the middle of a pass.

Download the free version of SatPC32. You can find a link to it on Amsat's web page. The software will control your TS-2000 far better than you can do manually. There is somewhat of a learning curve to the software, but it makes working sats so much easier and more fun with the TS-2000!

The free version is fully functional, but you will have to enter your location (lat and lon) every time you launch the program. If you purchase a registration for it ($45) it will remember your location. For what it does, its well worth the asking price!
