    Burt E. Hart, a longtime Red Hook resident, died Saturday, April 28th, 2012.

    Born on September 12, 1929, in Proctor, VT, he was the son of the late Robert Brown and Eva Lillian (Martin) Hart.

    Burt served 5 years in the United States Navy.

    He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT, worked as an electrical engineer at Hamilton Standard and then retired after many years with IBM, where he earned several US Patents for his innovations in electronics.

    He enjoyed scuba diving, HAM radio, gun clubs, welding, and building cars and trucks. He was a member of the NEWS Group. Burt also volunteered at Northern Dutchess Hospital and worked for the Town of Red Hook plowing roads.

    He is preceded in death by his beloved sister, Mildred.

    He is survived by two daughters, Diane Hart of San Diego, CA, Nancy Albright and son in law Philip Albright of Laguna Niguel, CA and their two daughters, Katherine and Rachel. Burt is also survived by the mother of his children, Irene Hart and sister in law, Ethel Been.

    Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Friday, May 4th, 2012 from 4 to7 pm with a service to be held at 7 pm. Internment will be private.

    Memorial donations may be made in Burt's memory to the Northern Dutchess Hospital Foundation, PO Box 5002, Rhinebeck, NY 12572

    Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
