There are a bunch of tables and chairs in front of the Kit Building booth area (unless they change the layout from the last 2 years. The ARRL EXPO is pretty big, but the chair/table area is more or less in the center of the area. The kit building area is against the far back wall. I will be easy to find. I gotta new HAT at Visalia, green with yellow lettering that says WA6MHZ PAT. And my wife will be the ONLY little old Chinese lady in the Hamvention! We will be in the Kit building area for the Hamvention Duration, or close by and in constant radio contact. There is alot to see in the ARRL Expo so enjoy looking around while U look for QRZed members. I will have some W6D QSLs to pass out. They are 2011 ones upgraded to 2012. I lost my stash of 2010 cards. (they are SOMEWHERE in the radio shack, but you could lose an ELEPHANT in there!)

Sorry, the CATS hafta stay home! They are guarding the house against Black Widows!

So that's why you never sent me a 2010 W6D card? After making all that fuss by your car over working me on 2 M simplex?

U can have a 2011 card backdated for 2010 which I can fill out. We can make the time about when we met and of course the freq was 146.52 simplex FM. I will have plenty of cards and I know I owe other QRZeders cards too (WM3O for sure! AE1P too) The cards WILL be there!

Fair enough. I think I snapped that picture of you right before the contact, so that should give the date & time. I'll check the properties tonight at home and get that to you.

Which card of mine do you want in return? Right now, I've got Sunset over the Point, Skyblast at PNC Park, Pittsburgh North Shore Then & Now, Double Rainbow over Castle Shannon, and of course the '79 Pen & Ink card with my current call. I can also whip up Duquesne Incline/Downtown Pittsburgh Skyline (summer & winter flavors), Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Race Cars, and a couple of tropical themes. I can try Classic Hallicrafters Station again, but the quality on that photo isn't too good, it was a crappy digital camera by today's standard.

I like the idea of the classic Hallicrafters station. I am going to be the FIRST person in the history of the world to get a HALLICRAFTERS LOGO Tattoo!

Don't be so sure of that. Besides, which "h", the original, or the '60's version (circa Northrup)?

The classic station is a shot of my old HT-37, SX-111, and HT-41, back at the old QTH. I don't think the TO keyer is in that picture. The quality of it is poor, though, it doesn't scale well.

That is what is holding me up. I don't know WHICH Hallicrafters LOGO to use.

    This one is popular

But this one is the one on my Hallicrafters SR-400

    Then there is THIS one

I am partial to this one, but I want the word HALLICRAFTERS under it

This is the one on very old units

I can't decide! I need QRZed to decide for me!

The first logo shown is what most people consider the "classic" Hallicrafters logo. The second one is the more "modern" one. I don't recall offhand if it was adopted when Northrup bought the company or shortly before, but it's roughly the same time frame. I'll have to check Chuck Dachis' book to see if the point in time for the change is mentioned; I'd ask him directly, but I've been out of touch with him for years & I don't want to intrude.

#4 is the same logo, just a slightly different shade/color. The only real difference between #2 & #4 as shown is the color & the remaining wording of the company name.

FWIW, it's the #2 logo that I have on my "Hallicrafters" hats (both the current one and the one with my old call). So if you want my opinion on which logo I prefer, well, there you go.

Only 18 days until I wake up at butt 30 and drive hundreds of miles to the airport, only to board a plane bound for Dayton.
