I've just finished adding the PDC-1 Peak Reading Adapter from HI-RES Communications to the MFJ-998 1.5KW Auto-Tuner, and it works as advertised. It's an easy modification and details can be seen at:

Did you use a voltage regulator or just hook it up to 13.8VDC?

I used a regulator to hold the DC at 9 volts. However, the manual does say the PDC-1 will work with a 13.8 volt supply.
