I definitely remember the 10-cent Cokes. I took some summer science / writing classes in 4th and 5th grade and they actually had a Coke machine in the hallway for us. And my uncle had hoarded away the last 10-cent Hershey bar in the icebox of the farmhouse -- he passed when I was 12, and I ate the candy bar when I was about 15 or 16. The same candy bar is about a buck now.

If you were a REAL Lone Ranger fan, you had one of these:

I remember Cokes being a nickel. In fact, back in the early 70's, we bought a piece of property for a business venture than had an old storage building on it and there was a 5-cent Coke machine inside -- along with literally a ton of junk. It was located behind a radio/TV repair shop, but unfortunately no old radios were inside. The machine was a little rusty, but the refrigeration unit still worked and I placed it in my workshop to keep my beer cold.

FYI -- there are lots of old radio programs available for free download -- I listen to quite a few at work. Several providers even have the obscure stuff, as well as the mainstream stuff like Sherlock Holmes, The Shadow, Inner Sanctum, etc...

Yep, extra points for the reason they were called that.

Yep... I need all the extra points I can glean. reason; Big block of ice was put in the top of em' (no electricity). That's why grandmothers & mothers from that era were always saying "CLOSE THE DOOR, DON'T STAND & LOOK!" Ice was delivered by the "Iceman"... (how many points?) not fair really. I was there
