Default DXCC fees, LOTW vs. the new online filing...

I did a little research due to a phone call discussion earlier this evening.

This doesn't take in account the postage fees for mailing cards to the ARRL and are member fees.
It also doesn't take into account any costs for receiving an actual card from a DX station as we were only
    discussing the DXCC filing fees.

    For 125 qsl's, LOTW would cost $20.
    $5 filing fee plus 125 qsl's @ .12 each ($15) = $20

For 125 qsl's, online filing would cost $9.42
    $7.50 filing fee with 101 cards processed free plus 24 qsl's @ .08 each ($1.92) = $9.42

It comes down to that if you are sending some in anyway, you may want to send any cards
that you happen to have instead of using LOTW qsl's for the same contacts.

20 LOTW qsl's are the point where you are the same for 101 cards and online filing.
It will be more than 20 if you were to figure in postage to send cards to the ARRL and back again.

It's late and I was bored so...

Quite interesting thanks for your time in researching that I would have been to lazy I suppose. I am getting ready to submit quite a few LoTW contacts some that I do have QSL card on but most are LoTW and are band and mode. I will be doing as you suggest with what I have cards for this time. I do take my cards to a local checker don't send them in.

    Thanks
