is there any way to load a map, or a screenshot of a map to use in UI-View without having internet constantly. of course i will have to have internet to download the map, but i mean as far as when i am mobile. any map i have found so far needs to contact a server when UI-View is started. any suggestions?
When I was doing APRS I ran Precision Mapping 7 from Undertow.
The program installed on the PC and you needed a utility called PMapServer7 for UI-View.
The server ran in the background on the machine.

I will try the link that you sent me...i am currently using PA7RHM's map server. it is great, has google maps as well as others. the only reason i cannot use this for mobile use(i use with my iGate) is that i have no internet while driving around town, so a static map is my only choice(i think)
